English Language School in Edinburgh
Accredited by the British Council, Edinburgh Language Academy teaches English to students from all over the world in the heart of Edinburgh’s waterfront district. Edinburgh Language Academy is a Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) approved centre.
The SQA is the national organisation in Scotland responsible for qualifications other than degrees. For example, the exams taken by many young people in Scotland at 16 and 18 years of age – Standard grades and Highers - are overseen by the SQA.
With approved centre status, Edinburgh Language Academy is able to offer courses leading to Scottish ESOL qualifications, which are recognised by employers and educational institutions across Scotland and the UK. A recognised ESOL qualification that demonstrates your ability in English will prove an invaluable aid when applying for jobs or university places. Initially, Edinburgh Language Academy will offer the ESOL Higher course and an ESOL Intermediate 2 Unit Award. .
The school’s Director of Studies, says: ‘We are a small, friendly school, we can offer students tailored courses and a high level of personal support. We like to keep class size between six and eight students. This gives each student lots of individual help from the teachers.’
He continues: ‘With our help, students can choose the General English level that is best for them or if they have specific examination needs we offer courses in IELTS and Cambridge examinations.’
